National Bow Tie Day

August 28th, 2020

National Bow Tie Day is a reason for men to embrace the bow tie. While other types of ties are enjoyed more readily, bow ties are often reserved for formal occasions. The bow tie is a descendant of the knotted cravat. It was created from the need for neckwear that was easier to wear than the cravat and that would last throughout a more active day. Even though bow ties are commonly seen at weddings and other formal parties, there has been an increase in the number of people enjoying them for everyday wear.
