Nerdy teen Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider and soon discovers that he has the proportionate strength and agility of the spider — as well as web shooting talents. The arachnid crime fighter got his own comic book in March 1963 and quickly became the center of multimedia empire.
Spiderman recently joined the rest of The Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
