Exercise enables children to improve their overall well being, to maintain a healthier weight and to reduce the risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Too often children do not get the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity per day. National Exercise With Your Child Week encourages parents and guardians alike to empower their children to become physically active. Staying active together can help children build confidence while teaching them the importance of physical activity to lead a healthy life.
Occurs annually the second week of August.
