The goal of World Breastfeeding Week is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
Parents want to give their children the best things in life, and research indicates that breastfeeding children has scores of benefits for health and well-being. World Breastfeeding Week is one of the many child- and family-centric events through the year that can be the catalyst for marketing promotions benefiting department stores, baby centers, daycare facilities, pediatricians, and other businesses that cater to families.
