Fibromyalgia is a condition often characterized by chronic, widespread pain. It can affect all areas of the body and vary in intensity. It is estimated that 6 to 10 percent of people in the United States have fibromyalgia, and it affects women, men and children. However, fibromyalgia is much more common in women.
