Cotton candy is a concoction made from spun melted sugar. The sugar threads are gathered on a stick or tube -- or en masse in bag -- and form a fluffy, cloud of sweetness. Cotton candy is a familiar sight at carnivals and fairs during the summer. Surprisingly enough, National Cotton Candy Day is celebrated during the heart of December.
